Concrete Pools vs. Fiberglass Pools

News March 18, 2016

Looking into building a pool in San Antonio? If so, youve likely come across a few different types of pools that you can build, two of which are concrete pools and fiberglass pools.

Today, we want to talk to you about a few of the differences between concrete and fiberglass pools to help you make an informed decision about which type of pool to purchase.

SWIMMING POOL INSTALLATION TIME

A concrete pool will likely take a bit more time to install than a fiberglass pool will. This is because the shells of fiberglass pools are built somewhere off-site, so the installation process itself takes less time. Curious about the installation time of concrete pools? SWIMMING POOL COST

The cost to build a either a concrete pool or a fiberglass pool is relatively the same.

SWIMMING POOL CUSTOMIZATION

Concrete pools are much more customizable than fiberglass. This is because fiberglass pools are made from a mold. Therefore, the customer must choose from a select number of designs that are offered by the fiberglass pool builder. However, a concrete pool can be 100% unique and built to the customers specifications.

SWIMMING POOL SIZE

Concrete pools can be any shape or size you would like them to be because they are dug and built on-site with a construction plan or blueprint. On the other hand, fiberglass pools cannot exceed 16 feet in width because they must be shipped on a truck via the road.
